Is it just me or does more people out there think the bows are really wierd? They dont have bowstrings (Visible)! How can you fire a bow if you dont have anything to fire it with??
Guild Wars really needs to add bowstrings to bows beacause it just looks really wierd otherwise. Maybe not to bows like stormbows, eternal bows etc. because they are like magical and stuff, but honestly, all the other bows looks like they are unfinished piece of work
It wouldnt hurt adding a better sound to the bows when you fire it either,it sounds really lame..

Post your comments please

It also would be cool if it was a fiery bowstring than it would be on fire, if it it was shocking than it would be made of lightning...etc (could also be done with swords and stuff, an ebon blade would be made of stone...etc).

Um, to briefly answer your question: it has been mentioned a lot, but the addition of bowstrings would be a lot of coding for very little result - but yes, it would be nice.

/signed cuz it would be nice but, only if it take no longer then a hour to code no need to really waste people power on a 1x20 pixel line

Have you ever seen an actual bow being used? A bowstring is a really thin cord, hardly visble from a distance. The size a bowstring isn't really worth the effort to code one.
Just feel lucky that they actually animate the bows to have them bend when you shoot. No other weapon goes through a distortion like that.

It's actually not a lot of work at all. Could be done by one person in 10 minutes. GW is a 3D game and not 2D, all things in here are just a model covered with skin. Changing the model won't take much work.

depending on your graphics settings, it may not matter at all. If you have the lowest, it could turn out to be a blob so it'd be taken out by the design team. Or you have the highest and 1600x1200 resolution and then it's impossible to see unless if you actually bother to press your face up to the screen. If it's in between, it'll be a pixelated line that looks very oogly.
Though at first I thought it'd be nice to have them, it's just not worth it.
